“He’s serious about us” “He must start every Chelsea game” – Fans wants more of Chelsea star on the pitch who caused more damage in 2mins in Palalce draw

Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge by Crystal Palace, with Enzo Maresca’s side not scoring on the opening day for the second consecutive campaign.

However, Chelsea fans got their first glimpse of exciting new signing Estevao Willian for the first time in the Premier League, however he was unable to make a winning impact for the Blues.

Josh Acheampong impressed in just his fourth Premier League start for the club, as he was brought in to replace the injured Levi Colwill at the heart of defence.

There was a less impressive outing for Jamie Gittens on debut for the club. He ranked poorly in The Chelsea Chronicle’s player ratings for the game.

He was replaced early in the second half by Estevao, who immediately made an impact on the game, almost setting up an opening goal for Pedro Neto.

Chelsea fans want Estevao Willian to start ahead of Jamie Gittens

There was a buzz around Stamford Bridge whenever he picked up the ball, and Chelsea fans have also taken to social media to share how impressed they were with his performance.

Supporters took to X to state that they believe Estevao should be starting the next game in the Premier League instead of Gittens.

One user said: “Since coming on…Estevao has caused more damage in 2 mins than Gittens did in 50 mins. He must play every game he’s serious about us.”

Another added: “Estevao should start ahead of Gittens in the next match.”

A third stated: “Put in Estevao & take out Gittens. It’s clear why we are still working on the LW position.”

Another claimed: “See the difference between Gittens & Estevao. Night and day man!”

Finally, one user said: “Estevao is clear of Gittens, sorry.”

Estevao impressing greatly since joining Chelsea

Despite not being able to cap off a dream Premier League debut, it has still been a very promising start to life for the teenager in West London.

He scored on his first appearance in pre-season for the Blues, with Pat Nevin one of those very excited by Estevao in the two fixtures which were played at Stamford Bridge.

Ben Foster was impressed by Estevao too, and it doesn’t feel as if it will be long before we see him thrown into a starting side.

It remains to be seen if Maresca decides this will be the case when they are next in action, with a trip to West Ham awaiting the Blues on Friday night.
