BREAKING: Chelsea bring in new goalkeeper who could now challenge for first team spot
According to reports, Chelsea has decided to sign a goalie who may now contend for a berth in the first squad.
The Blues are undoubtedly in a bit of a goalie predicament at the moment. Robert Sanchez has returned to his poor habits after making two major mistakes in Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to Arsenal last night.
After that, Alejandro Garnacho made two saves to keep Chelsea in the overall draw over the course of the two legs; one late goal was critical to the outcome.
Many Chelsea supporters wanted to see an improvement made to the goalkeeper position during the most recent transfer window, but they did not take any action, and even though they attempted to recruit Mike Maignan from AC Milan at one time, they decided against hiring a new goalkeeper.
Sharman-Lowe enters
Although it is not a new goalkeeper, Chelsea seems to be reintroducing one.
Goalie Teddy Sharman-Lowe has been called back by Chelsea from his loan at Bolton Wanderers, according to the Evening Standard.
Sharman-Lowe had originally joined Bolton on a season-long loan in the summer, but Chelsea triggered a break provision in his contract.
According to the article, Chelsea will now decide on the best course of action for the 22-year-old goalkeeper, with the potential that he stay with the first team for the duration of the campaign.
Is Jorgensen off?
I believe Filip Jorgensen may be going if they have brought Sharman-Lowe back in to challenge for a first team berth.
However, He wants to go apparently and is concerned about his World Cup spot with Denmark. So this might be Chelsea replacing him. Let’s see what happens.
