“I will get sacked if I don’t win any trophy this season” – Mikel Arteta finally reveals why Chelsea defeat it’s important to him
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta commented on the victory over Chelsea (1-0) in the second leg of the English League Cup semi-final.
“Am so happy they’re out”
“Did I like it? Very much, especially the ending. We knew it would be a real battle. That resilience, that clear understanding of how we should play… We were very good at that.
“There was a special atmosphere at our stadium. That means a lot. We’ve waited several years to be in this position, and we’ll definitely enjoy the final,” Arteta said.
“Thank God they don’t get the penalty they deserve it would have change the game for us and would have been a great chance for them but it all went well on our favor”
“We need to win some major trophies this season or else am in trouble” Arteta added
On 22 March, Arsenal will play against the winner of the Newcastle-Manchester City tie (the first match ended 2-0 in favour of the Citizens) in the final.
