Pulisic reveals what Frank Lampard told him before Ajax assist

Christian Pulisic is seen to have had a pretty big breakthrough in recent weeks, turning into a key figure off the bench for Frank Lampard, and one who is pressing for inclusion in the first team.

The winger’s latest contribution was a massive assist off the bench against Ajax, and he was asked about what Lampard had told him as he prepared to enter the fray in a vital moment.

“The manager told me: “Go in, make an impact, make a difference” and I’m happy I was able to help a little bit with that,” he told the Daily Mail.

“I go in to give absolutely everything and do the best I can with the opportunity I’m given. I’m happy with the short time I was given to make an assist, make a difference and obviously I want to be on the field,” he went on to add.

Pulisic has not been bad for Lampard by any stretch of the imagination. He had some flashes when playing earlier in the season.

But eventually was pushed out by the returns of Wilian, Mason Mount’s willingness to play on the wing, and then Callum Hudson-Odoi.

It always seemed like he would get another chance however, and now he’s earning himself more.

There was never any doubt he would get time to prove himself, especially after such a high profile move, and he’s still nowhere near behind schedule on settling in and earning his place under Lampard.
