Frank Lampard has finally told Chelsea to delay any move for Jadon Sancho this January window. After appealing their ban last months, Chelsea have now found out that they will once again be able to sign players and improve on the side, especially as the Blues are seeking to clinch a top four spot and possibly some transfers.
And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that Lampard is ready to try and secure a record-breaking club deal for Sancho, with reports that the Blues are prepared to pay that massive £120 million to secure a transfer deal.
But amid reports Sancho is unsettled at Dortmund and is ready to leave the club, THE SUN SAY Chelsea have cooled their interest in completing a deal for Sancho this month and are prepared to wait until the summer to make their move.
The report claims that Lampard believes his squad are currently well stocked in wide areas and has urged the club to focus on signing a new striker to ease the pressure on Tammy Abraham. the Bundesliga club’s director of sport recently admitted no exit is forthcoming and they will not be looking to sell during the January transfer window.
He said on the Daily Express: “We’re continuing to plan with him. He’s a fundamental player for us and I do not see any scenario where he leaves us.
“We have already had some situations with him to talk about, and there have been a lot of interviews in the last few weeks. “We are in a good way; when he came off the bench in Barcelona and also in Berlin, he gave us a top performance.”
However, according to THE DAILY EXPRESS, Frank Lampard’s Chelsea are ‘close’ to wrapping up an audacious £120m deal for Sancho which would smash the club’s transfer record. The report goes on to say ‘Chelsea could complete an agreement for Sancho this winter before loaning the youngster back to Dortmund for the remainder of the campaign. The Blues used this tactic with Dortmund to find an agreement for Christian Pulisic.
