Fresh reports have claimed Chelsea have made another contact with Borussia Dortmund about a deal for Jadon Sancho. After appealing their ban last months, the blues have now found out that they will once again be able to sign players and improve on the side, especially as the Blues are seeking to clinch a top four spot and possibly some transfers.
And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that Lampard is ready to try and secure a record-breaking club deal for Sancho, with reports that the Blues are prepared to pay that massive £120 million to secure a transfer deal.
But amid reports Sancho is unsettled at Dortmund and is ready to leave the club, recent reports have claimed Chelsea have cooled their interest in completing a deal for Sancho this month and are prepared to wait until the summer to make their move. The report claims that Lampard believes his squad are currently well stocked in wide areas and has urged the club to focus on signing a new striker to ease the pressure on Tammy Abraham.
But Sky in Germany have claimed that Chelsea are one of a number of clubs who have made an approach to sign the coveted winger THIS month, as the bidding war at the end of the season may take his asking price to new heights. However, the report also suggests that the approach has been turned down by the Germans as they believe that they simply cannot find an adequate replacement for Sancho this month.
The Bundesliga club’s director of sport recently admitted no exit is forthcoming and they will not be looking to sell during the January transfer window. He said on the Daily Express: “We’re continuing to plan with him. He’s a fundamental player for us and I do not see any scenario where he leaves us.
“We have already had some situations with him to talk about, and there have been a lot of interviews in the last few weeks. “We are in a good way; when he came off the bench in Barcelona and also in Berlin, he gave us a top performance.”
Look, Sancho is a brilliantly gifted young man that would certainly improve this Chelsea attack, but Chelsea are lacking quality at the back and real leaders in the team, so maybe Lampard should wait on a deal for Sancho and try to work on other areas first?
