Chelsea’s new manager Maurizio Sarri has enjoyed a strong start in west London.

Italian international Jorginho followed the eccentric coach from Napoli, moving to Stamford Bridge in a £57m deal.

The 26-year-old midfielder has only played two league games for his new club but has quickly become a key player as Sarri tries to convey his ideas.

Marcos Alonso confirmed that Jorginho is helping his new Chelsea teammates adapt to Sarri’s playing style.

“He is used to playing this way, and he is going to be a great help for everybody. He is giving us tips to get used to this way of playing,” Alonso told the club’s website.

“We are working on a new formation, a new style that he is asking of us. He wants us to press high, he wants the team to be together, to have possession of the ball.”

The Blues convincingly won 3-0 away at Huddersfield Town in their opening Premier League fixture of the 2018/19 campaign.

And, on Saturday evening, Chelsea survived an Arsenal comeback to record a 3-2 victory over their London rivals.

Sitting in front of the Chelsea back four, Jorginho has earned plaudits thanks to his excellent passing ability.

And a Chelsea fan on Twitter has highlighted another aspect of Jorginho’s game, sharing four screenshots from Saturday’s 3-2 win.

It’s mightily impressive that Jorginho is already conducting his Chelsea teammates off-the-ball.

The player’s agent, Joao Santos, claimed his client is already settled and integrated into his new surroundings.

“Jorginho has started his adventure at Chelsea very well,” said Santos, to Radio CRC via Football Italia.

“He’s already integrated himself, plus he also speaks English well, so he’s not having any problems settling.

“When a player is good, he can play in any League. Stereotypes matter little. If a player has quality, they can make the grade anywhere.

“He’s very happy with how the match against Arsenal went.”
