“A perfect replacement” – Chelsea told to sign £40m ‘Extra ordinary’ class player to replace Raheem Sterling
Raheem Sterling, a winger for Chelsea, turns 30 this year and has seen some decline since joining Stamford Bridge.
Raheem Sterling, who left Manchester City in 2022 to join Chelsea, only managed eight goals in the Premier League the previous year.
With the arrival of Enzo Maresca, he was benched near the conclusion of the season and must now persuade a new management.
But in light of everything mentioned above, Chelsea and the Italian should seriously think about swapping him out for another Premier League winger who should be available this summer.
Raheem Sterling could start the 2024/25 season as Chelsea’s first-choice left winger
As of now, it actually looks like Sterling could be a starter for Chelsea next term.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that the England international is not going anywhere, while journalist Simon Phillips claims that the Blues want Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk as their two main options for the left wing.
Come the first game of the season, then, and Sterling could find his name on Maresca’s first team sheet.
Chelsea, however, have a good chance to sign a potential successor to the wide man in the transfer window.
Chelsea should make a bid for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho
According to BBC Sport, Manchester United want to sell Jadon Sancho this summer and have slapped a £40m price tag on him.
Sancho had a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season, helping the German club to reach the Champions League final.
At United, it has not quite worked out, but at Dortmund there were signs that there is still an incredibly gifted player in there.
For example, Sancho completed 2.6 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga, which was the highest average in Edin Terzic’s squad (WhoScored).
Five years younger than Sterling, Sancho can be a long-term signing — perhaps not as long-term as some others — for Chelsea but make an impact now.
