“A player every manager wants in his team” “A Sensational player” –  Wayne Rooney left blown away about what £130k-a-week Chelsea player has done so far this season

Wayne Rooney has praised the overall ability of a current Chelsea player.

This season, the Blues roster is brimming with potential, and it’s showing on the pitch. During the international break, Enzo Maresca’s side is fourth on the Premier League table.

Since Maresca was appointed as Chelsea’s head coach in the summer, a handful of stars have been playing some fantastic football.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano even told The Debrief last week that Chelsea’s players are’very satisfied’ with Maresca.

Wayne Rooney hails Cole Palmer

England legend Wayne Rooney, who’s currently the manager at Plymouth Argyle, has showered Chelsea’s Cole Palmer with some massive credit.

He’s so impressed by what the 22-year-old playmaker has achieved at Stamford Bridge.

“A player every manager wants in his team”

“I think Cole Palmer’s been sensational over the last season and the start of this season,” Rooney told talkSPORT.

Cole Palmer on fire during second season

Palmer, who now earns £130,000-a-week (Spotrac) has definitely hit the ground running during his second year in Chelsea colours.

The talented attacker enjoyed a stunning debut campaign with them, but everyone’s been waiting to see if he can back it up again. Well, he’s delivered a pretty emphatic response so far.

Palmer has scored six goals and created five assists from the opening seven Premier League matches.

It’s pretty obvious that the left-footed talisman is thriving in Maresca’s system in a central No.10 position, where he’s granted the freedom to drift around the pitch and collect possession in-between the lines.

Now, Chelsea’s in-form star will hope he can make a big impact during this international period with England’s senior team. During a recent interview with talkSPORT, Gabriel Agbonlahor insisted Palmer should start for England as the number 10.

If Lee Carsley decides to pick the Three Lions team on current form, Palmer should be the very first name in the starting XI.
