“A possible return to Chelsea!” – Former Chelsea man could return to Stamford Bridge in a surprising way
This most recent Chelsea report is among the more unexpected pieces of news that has surfaced this week.
It centers on the club’s managerial position, with Mauricio Pochettino’s future as head coach now being a subject of controversy. Pochettino’s Chelsea future appears to depend on how well he performs in these final few games of the season to qualify for the Europa League.
Yes, it is possible, but it will also depend on other outcomes, not simply Chelsea’s in the last three games. Crystal Palace’s 4-0 thumping of Manchester United obviously boosts Chelsea’s cause at the moment, but it will be a shaky three games before we find out where we stand.
If Chelsea do decide to pull the plug on Pochettino, there has been a lot said and written about potential replacements coming in. Could the unthinkable happen here by the club looking to bring back a former manager?
Well, according to the reliable Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg on X, Chelsea is one of the clubs that Thomas Tuchel wants to join!
He says Tuchel was open to continue at FC Bayern and there were internal discussions. But the door is now closed for the time being!
He goes on to report that there are two appealing destinations for him – Manchester United, or a return to Chelsea!
There is some loose contact with Manchester United. But for now he is currently fully focused on Bayern and wants to win the Champions League for the team and the fans.
Surely a return to Chelsea is completely unfathomable for both sides? It didn’t seem to end great between them when Chelsea sacked him recently even after he won the Champions League in 2021.
I mean, you can never say never I guess, and much stranger and surprising things have happened in this game!
