long-term Chelsea target Neymar needs to leave Paris Saint-Germain in order to fulfil his potential, according to former Brazil international Rivaldo.

Now Chelsea fans saw months and months and months of transfer speculation in the summer end after star man Eden Hazard left the club to finally seal his big move to Real Madrid in a deal worth over £70 million, leaving the club lacking that big time player they need.

Yes the club managed to secure a deal for CHRISTIAN PULISIC and yes they have the exciting talents of CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI on the wing, but there are many out there that believe that Chelsea are still lacking a couple of superstar players to be serious challengers for that Premier League and Champions League titles.

And they were actually linked with a move for Neymar well before their transfer ban came into effect, but were unable to make a move after Hazard left the club simply because of that fact. But that has not stopped speculation suggesting Owner Roman Abramovic would like to have the Brazilian superstar at the club when he comes back on the market.

Neymar was linked with a whole host of big clubs during the summer transfer window as he sought to leave the French giants and get back challenging at the top of the game, but PSG were not willing to sell their star man and in the end he was forced to stay in Ligue 1 for at least another year.

But Brazilian legend Rivaldo has had his say and told the gifted attacker that he needs to leave PSG to finally fulfil his clear potential, HE SAID: “I believe a lot in Neymar. But I think he has to leave [PSG]. That’s why he wanted to leave at this transfer window at any cost, PSG is a great club but not one for the level of Neymar

“I think that, at a world stage, everybody talks only about Barcelona, Real Madrid and some other big clubs from England, some from Germany.

“He has to go to a club that has more history at Champions [League]. Of course, if he wins the Champions [League] and can be a world champion, it will be much easier to become the best player in the world.”

Look PSG are a very rich club and if he stays in that French League he will pretty much add the League and domestic Cup competitions to his cabinet as PSG are the only real side in the French League, which is not much of a challenge is it?

He will surely leave the club at the end of the season, and if Chelsea are interested, they have the money and credibility to tempt him to the Premier League.
