‘Absolutely no way, what the hell?’- Blues fans left disappointed after three Chelsea players left out from Ballon d’Or list

According to latest Ballon d’Or list, Chelsea fans believe that eight of their playing squad should have made the main 30-man Ballon d’Or nomination list as the key trio of Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy missed out.

It was still impressive news for the European Champions regarding the final shortlist for this year’s award ceremony with five players making it onto the shortlist.

All of Romelu Lukaku, JorginhoN’Golo Kante, Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta made the cut at the expense of their three teammates who arguably also deserved to be included.

However, having five players on this list is impressive, especially considering where the club were placed when Frank Lampard was sacked midway through last season.

This accolade and achievement for the club is largely down to the work Thomas Tuchel did in turning a faltering side into European Champions in the short time period during the 2020/21 campaign.

However,Chelsea fans weren’t happy to see two specific Blues players on the nomination list but fans of the west London club were also left questioning the shortlist and some of the names left out.

Below are some massive reactions from the

@Cons5Mc has asked: ‘Why is the best keeper Mendy that won the best uefa keeper award not here and Donnaruma is here?’

@wheezy_khiddy similarly put: ‘there’s no way edouard mendy don’t get into the ballon d’or nominees list, absolutely no way.’

@Ronak_Kamat gave his three-word verdict: ‘Where is Mendy?’

Talk then turned to the exclusion of the two other players that failed to make the final cut.
