Daniele Rugani’s agent has confirmed that Chelsea have made a sizeable offer for the Italian.
Rugani has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for several weeks now. He appears to be a player who Maurizio Sarri identified as a potential target while in talks with the club.
Chelsea were pursuing the 23-year-old before Sarri signed along the dotted line, which was a clear indication that Antonio Conte’s days as manager were numbered.
Sarri and Rugani worked together during their time with Empoli. The former appears keen on reuniting with him this summer, but it’s still unclear whether the move is going to happen.
Rugani’s agent has confirmed that Chelsea have made an offer for him, but he also suggested that there’s no interest from either the player or Juventus to make the move happen.
He’s quoted by ESPN saying:
“Chelsea have put their support behind this transfer the manager is asking for, and they have made a pretty big offer, which Juventus are aware of.”
“On the other hand, Juventus have several times so far been very clear and have repeated their resolve not to sell the player because they deem him important.”
If Rugani has no intention of pushing for a move soon, we ought to move onto an alternative target – he’s wasting our time.
