Agreement reached as Chelsea set to make first January signing

Chelsea have completed an agreement for their first new signing of the ongoing January transfer window and are poised to finalize the deal.

Chelsea has been associated with numerous potential signings in recent weeks, including various prospective new defenders.

After Chelsea’s decision to bring Trevoh Chalobah back from his loan at Crystal Palace, where Guehi is also located, the discussions about Chelsea pursuing Marc Guehi have quieted down somewhat.

But Chelsea are still being linked with new centre backs, and it looks like they are set to sign one as well now.

Although this one is not the marquee name that Guehi might be, being a full England international. And once again, it is a relatively unknown teenager who Chelsea are apparently about to sign – not what they should be prioritising.

Chelsea agree deal to sign Sarr

Mamdou Sarr of Strasbourg looks like a really good up and coming defender for the future, and that is who Chelsea are apparently now close to signing.

Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport reports:

‘Chelsea is set to sign talent Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg. Agreement between the player and Chelsea for a long term contract. Negociation ongoing between the clubs – both own by BlueCo – transfer fee around 20M€. Strasbourg will keep the defender on loan.’

So basically we are signing another talented youngster from our sister club and he is staying there on loan until the summer.

Someone tell this lot that they should be more balanced with their recruiting and to stop ignoring proven and established experience and leaders. Jesus Christ man.
