Everton have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Kurt Zouma, according to L’Equipe.
The French publication claim that there is an agreement in place for Zouma to spend the 2018/19 campaign on-loan with the Toffees, but Marco Silva’s side face a race against time to get it done before the 5pm deadline.
Usually in cases such as this clubs can approach the Premier League and request more time to complete the deal, if they can provide all the necessary paperwork and prove that the completing the deal is just a matter of dotting i’s and crossing t’s.
We imagine, if needed, Everton will do the same.
Zouma spent last season out on-loan with Stoke City, who were relegated from the Premier League. He was, in his defence, one of their better players. He did all that could have been asked of him considering the dire quality of his teammates.
He’d be provided with an opportunity to play alongside better players at Everton, and who knows, he could win himself a spot in Maurizio Sarri’s squad for the season that would follow.
