Michy Batshauyi is on the brink of sealing a loan move to Monaco until the end of the season, this is according to reports.
Following his unimpressive spell with Valencia, the Spanish club have decided to cut short his spell.
He moved to Valencia from Chelsea in the summer on a season long loan move but the 25-year-old is experiencing a dip in form. He has scored only one goal in 15 appearances for Los Che, very unimpressive by the standard of a striker.
At the close of last week, Thierry Henry admitted to being interested in the Belgian, whom he coached while assisting Roberto Martinez.
“Michy? I know him, we rubbed shoulders with Belgium, he is a player who can be interesting,” Henry said.
“But again, nothing is done. You have to be patient. It’s important that players know the championship, though.”
Monaco signed Batshuayi’s former teammate Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea last week and he looks set to join the Spanish playmaker in Ligue 1.
Monaco have lost three of their last five games but Henry is looking to bolster his squad in a bid to avoid being relegated.
Chelsea are currently in the market to sign a striker and if they do, Batshuayi is likely going to continue with his loan sojourning.
