According to the Guardian, Chelsea will agree a loan deal for highly-rated midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer. The 22-year-old is unlikely to be in the Blues’ first-team next season, but he won’t be sold either.
Instead, a loan move away from Stamford Bridge will be sanctioned to ensure Loftus-Cheek can continue his development.
The English international has stiff competition in the Chelsea midfield from Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante, Tiémoué Bakayoko, Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater, which is likely why he’ll have to seek a temporary move elsewhere.
Despite breaking into the national team, Chelsea still aren’t prepared to give Loftus-Cheek playing time.
Back in the summer, The Guardian say Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Everton are keen on on the Transfermkt’s €20m-rated’s signature but may have to wait until after the World Cup to finalise a deal. .
Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan with Palace, scoring and creating seven goals in 25 appearances for the Eagles and could consider returning this summer.
He won’t be short of interest as his England performances have boosted his reputation, so the midfield might have a difficult decision to make when the window reopens next month.
