Alvaro Morata’s poor form in 2018 has led to reports claiming that Chelsea might sell the Spaniard and sign on a new striker ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
The Spaniard has endured a difficult debut season in the Premier League, having started out his Chelsea career in good form, banging in eight goals in his first nine games for the Blues, including a hat-trick against Stoke City.
After joining Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer, the Spanish striker has been linked with a departure during the summer transfer window after a poor season that saw him miss out a place in the World Cup for Spain. Having registered just one Premier League goal in 2018, and losing his place in Chelsea’s starting XI to Olivier Giroud, Morata has been linked with a return to Juventus with reports from Germany claiming Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the former Real Madrid man.
However, Morata has dropped a major hint that he will stay at Chelsea this summer and look to revive his career in the Premier League.
Despite his struggles at Chelsea, Morata has suggested that he will be staying at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer in an Instagram post.
“Very excited to start again,” Morata wrote with a picture of him wearing a Chelsea shirt.
“The past was hard but that is only one more reason to begin fighting again.”
