Alvaro Morata has spoken out about his late miss in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace which denied him his hat-trick.
The Spaniard struck twice in the latest win for Maurizio Sarri’s side but with minutes to go, he was played through on goal by Eden Hazard.
Morata had plenty of time to decide his best option and he opted to chip Wayne Hennessey, but the Palace goalkeeper stood tall and made a comfortable save.
When asked about his miss, Morata told Sky Sports: ‘I honestly think in the last 10 mins to make the third.
I thought keeper would go on floor.
‘I can score hat-trick [so it] is not perfect day but we take three points, we are in first three places.
‘The important thing for us we want to fight until the end for Premier League.
‘Today I think a lot about the hat-trick it’s not good, I’m improving, I want to work and to help my team.
