Chelsea are reportedly close to making their second signing of the transfer window according to reports from Spain.
Reputable Spanish tabloid Marca claims that Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain is hours away from joining Chelsea.
Higuain has been linked to Chelsea all through the season and it looks like a deal has been agreed for his signature.
The former Madrid ace is currently on loan at AC Milan from Turin giants Juventus. It is believed that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is keen on reuniting with the 31-year-old at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri worked with Higuain for a single season at Napoli, during the course of the season Higuain posted his best numbers in his career. He scored 36 goals in the league breaking the all-time record of most goals in a Serie A season.
Chelsea have been struggling in front of goal this season and have scored the lowest tally of goals (38) among the top six teams in the League. Higuain is viewed by Sarri as a quick solution as the club stretches into the business end of the season.
A loan move is expected to be formalized in the next few days and this could pave the way for Alvaro Morato to finalise a transfer to Sevilla.
