‘Announcement on Friday? as Marina set to agree fee over Chelsea player departure

According to reports in Italy, Chelsea are set to earn £23million on Friday after AC Milan agreed to pay the asking price for defender Fikayo Tomori.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com via Daily Express, Chelsea and AC Milan have been locked in negotiations for weeks but Blues director Marina Granovskaia held firm to the club’s valuation and AC Milan are now ready to pay Chelsea’s asking price.

Having barely been used during the first half of the season under Frank Lampard, Tomori joined AC Milan on loan with the Italian club having an option to make the deal permanent.

Chelsea inserted a purchase clause of £24m (€28m) in his loan agreement but AC Milan had hoped to pay lower for the defender despite his impressive form on loan at AC Milan.

Tomori’s transfer to AC Milan will be reportedly announced on Friday.

The 23-year-old centre-back made 22 appearances over the second half of the 2020/21 campaign for Stefano Pioli’s side.
