Announcement on the way – As Chelsea reach transfer agreement for £97m player
Romelu Lukaku, a striker for Chelsea, is apparently the target of an over £30 million deal from Aston Villa.
After paying £97 million to Inter Milan for Lukaku, Chelsea will now need to accept a much lower price to let go of the Belgian.
It’s still a little complex because Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea and Chelsea wants to sell Lukaku.
Lukaku is highly desired by Napoli, as Antonio Conte is eager to collaborate with his former striker. Aston Villa is still trying to take advantage of Antonio Conte’s move, though.
According to Italian newspaper Il Mattino, via TUTTOmercatoWEB, Aston Villa reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Lukaku this week. However, there’s a key issue, as the Belgian only wants to reunite with Conte in Naples.
Per Corriere dello Sport, Lukaku is refusing to consider any other destination this summer as he waits for Napoli to set up a deal with Chelsea.
The 31-year-old Belgian is currently training individually, as he’s waiting to be fully fit for his reunion with Conte.
The Partenopei are still waiting to sell Osimhen and there’s been suggestions that he could head to Chelsea for a large lump sum and Lukaku, but Paris Saint-Germain are still considered the favourites for the time being for Victor Osimhen.
