“Better learn your lesson & Don’t start him” – Florent Malouda warns Enzo Maresca against starting ‘Sloppy’ Chelsea star ahead of Crystal Palace clash
On Monday night, Florent Malouda attacked Axel Disasi because he was unhappy with the Frenchman’s performance against Ipswich.
The Blues finished the year with a lackluster showing, losing 2-0 and their fourth game of the year.
After losing to Fulham on Boxing Day, Chelsea has now lost both of their league games. They are currently in fourth place, three points clear of Newcastle in fifth.
Florent Malouda not impressed by Disasi
Enzo Maresca made five changes from the defeat to Fulham with Axel Disasi, Noni Madueke, Filip Jorgensen, Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku all coming into the team.
None of the changes had the impact Maresca would have desired, but it was a particularly difficult evening for Disasi who really struggled.
Maresca made the strange decision to name three right backs on the bench and play Disasi out of position, where he’s struggled on numerous occasions already this season.
The 26-year-old played a role in both goals Chelsea conceded and was the source of frustration for a lot of supporters, before he was eventually replaced by Malo Gusto with a little over ten minutes remaining.
Former Blue Florent Malouda wasn’t impressed with Disasi’s defending and made that clear in his criticism of the ex-Monaco man’s performance as he also urges Enzo Maresca not to start the defender.
“It’s a gift from Disasi, Disasi, can he do better as well closing down Omari Hutchinson?,” he said via Chelsea’s official app.
“Make sure he doesn’t get his shot away. Too passive. It’s a lovely finish. Talk about trying to hand them a leg up. Disasi is culpable. It’s a sloppy ball giving it away.”
“Hopefully Maresca will learnt his lesson and know he’s not Chelsea standard”
