Chelsea’a winless streak continued last Sunday following a 1-1 home draw against a tough Leicester City side.
Sky Sports’ pundit Graeme Souness believes Frank Lampard’s lack of success at Stamford Bridge is down to the lack of physicality in midfield.
The former Liveprool man wants the Blues boss to play Jorginho in a more attack-minded role as the Italian has what it takes to succeed there.
Speaking after Chelsea’s draw with Leicester, Souness said: “My concern is the type of player they’ve got in midfield.
Technically they [N’Golo Kante and Jorginho] are very good but I think they do look vulnerable when the game gets stretched.
“I think the midfield, you could shuffle that. Jorginho, I get why the previous manager wanted him to play there, he thinks give the ball to him and he’ll get the team started.
I think Kante can do that, why not try Jorginho further up the park? Like [Cesc] Fabregas, look one way and slip someone in.
“I think he’d be better off suited to that personally and that would stiffen up your midfield, which is obviously a concern the way the games have panned out both last week and this week in the second half.”
