Big news from Italy–Chelsea and Milan ‘reach agreement’ for£280,000-a-week star
According to reports in the media, Chelsea and Inter Milan have agreed to extend Romelu Lukaku’s loan agreement until 2024.
Thomas Tuchel was eager to add a top-tier striker to the attack when he acquired Lukaku just over a year ago, and many believed the Belgian would be a huge success.
However, despite a few goals and some strong performances, he didn’t look like the striker who scored goals for fun at Inter Milan, and this summer the Blues allowed him to return on loan to the Italian powerhouse.
And since his move back to Inter – he has made it clear that he would like to stay in Italian football and the giants will look to loan the 29-year-old once again for the 2023-24 season.
However – Potter may want to keep him instead – with the player under contract until 2026 and it is believed the former Brighton boss would like to bring Lukaku back to the club
But According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport – Chelsea and Inter have now reached an agreement over extending the powerhouse deal with the Italians.
The report adds The official announcement will take place after new year, with all parties having reached agreement already.
The Belgian forward will not return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
