Blues finally reach agreement for £97m player as Chelsea announce another world class signing

Romelu Lukaku has been the target of Chelsea’s unsuccessful sales efforts over the last two years.

Chelsea paid £97 million to sign the Belgian, but during his second spell at Stamford Bridge, he never really took off.

Italy reports claim Chelsea is nearing a deal to sell Romelu Lukaku to Napoli for a price of €25 million plus bonuses.

Antonio Conte, the new manager of Napoli, is eager to sign Lukaku to a personal contract.

Victor Osimhen of Napoli, who is in negotiations with PSG, is connected to this trade.

Chelsea were interested in Osimhen but backed off due to Napoli’s high asking price. PSG is negotiating to include a fringe player in the deal for Osimhen, which could expedite Lukaku’s move to Napoli.

‘I’m excited to be in London, to see what the capital holds and to be at a club that is renowned for winning so many trophies.’

General manager Paul Green commented: ‘Lucy will bring leadership to the group. She is a serial winner and a versatile defender. She has lots of experience and a winning mentality which we feel will fit well into the squad.’
