Reports emerging from Italy have suggested Chelsea are lining up a potential move for Poland striker Kryzsztof Piatek.
Now the whole world knows that Chelsea were banned from trying to sign any players during the summer transfer window and had to go into this season with the current squad they had, plus a couple of loan stars that shone while out on-loan last season.
But there has been big suggestions in the media over the past few weeks which have suggested that Chelsea are confident that there transfer ban can be overturned as early as the January window, which would mean that Chelsea would be able to sign a new player or two.
Now Tammy Abraham has been brilliant for Chelsea this season and has been leading the Blues attack with such power and ability, despite his tender years, but behind him there is a real issues in depth at Chelsea, as Muchy Batshuayi is hit and miss, and Olivier Giroud is seemingly destined for the exit signs at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman’s contract expires in June meaning he can sign a pre-contract agreement with other clubs in January, and Frank Lampard has vowed to speak to Giroud regarding his deal, telling the Sky Sports website last week: “I had a good chat with Oli before the international break. “I always respect all the players, but particularly players of that age. I love his professionalism.
“He was bang on when he spoke to me. He was bang on with what he said when he was away with France. He shouldn’t be happy and accept not playing. That’s what good players do. As I said to Oli, he will get his games and be a big influence for us. At the moment, because of how Tammy is playing, there hasn’t been the minutes for him.
“I will happily sit down with Oli in January. But January is a long way away. I don’t want him to go – he’s a big part of the squad. Tammy has been producing but I will sit down with Oli because I respect him. I want him here.”
And there has been some reports emerging from Italy which have claimed that Chelsea have been keeping a very close eye on the talented Piatek, especially after it was revealed to the Blues that he has just a £32 million valuation on his head after his move to AC Milan last season.
But done get too excited Chelsea fans as Calcio Mercato state that, contrary to suggestions in the local media, Chelsea have made no attempts to sign the striker and have been holding off making contact with the Poland ace.
