Blues to use Romelu Lukaku in a swap deal to sign superstar striker
Chelsea are reportedly planning a stunning swap deal involving Romeu Lukaku and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
As per El Nacional, Chelsea are working on getting incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino the players he wants to compete for trophies from next season. They are aware that the squad lacks a goal scorer and are ready to do everything possible to fill the void.
Kane has been identified as the top target, and they are ready to offer Lukaku in exchange. The Belgian is currently is on loan at Inter Milan and is not interested in continuing at Stamford Bridge. However, a permanent move to the Italian side is unlikely.
Kane, meanwhile, has scored 28 goals in 37 games this season in the league – a whopping 42% of Tottenham’s goals. However, when compared with the Chelsea squad, Kane has scored just eight fewer than the entire team.
Lukaku joined Chelsea from Inter Milan for over £97 million in 2021 but scored just 15 goals in 44 appearances across competitions. He then joined Inter on loan last summer and is now set to play in the UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City. He has contributed 12 goals and six assists in 32 games across competitions this season.
