Brazilian winger could make switch to Chelsea in the summer
Chelsea are reportedly keen to bring Palmeiras midfield star Gabriel Menino to Stamford Bridge.
The 20-year-old has played 59 games for his current team in all competitions, founding back of the net four times and provided seven assists in the process.
According to UOL, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are closely following the South American playmaker, who could potentially be available for somewhere between €15m and €20m in the upcoming transfer window.
However, the report suggests that the Blues are likely to provide competition for the South American Under-20s international, with the Blues keen to bring him to the English top-tier.
Menino joined Palmeiras from Guarani back in 2017, spending two years in the youth team before making his senior debut against Ituano in the Campeonato Paulista back in January 2020.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are also allegedly determined to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund’s centre-forward Erling Braut Haaland during this summer’s transfer window.
Another Brazilian star Oscar has recently revealed his desire to make a return to Stamford Bridge in order to end his career at his former club.
“There is a great project for me here. But, to end my career, I would like to return to Chelsea. I built a beautiful story there and went to the Premier League very young, at a time when fans did not trust Brazilian players that much.
I helped change that. I’ll be a bit older when I try this move again but, as I am playing very well, with good stats, I feel there is still a place for me at Chelsea.”
