BREAKING: 25-year-old Chelsea star may never play for club again

AC Milan has secured a loan deal for Chelsea forward Joao Felix for the rest of the ongoing season.

On Tuesday, the Blues announced that the Portuguese player had joined the Serie A giants on loan, just six months after joining the West London outfit from Atletico Madrid.

Since returning to Chelsea for a second spell, Felix has fought for game time, starting just three of Enzo Maresca’s 24 Premier League matches this season.

The Portugal international is poised to return to Stamford Bridge after the current season, but it seems he may never play for the Blues again.

According to TBR Football, AC Milan fully intend to make the attacker’s move to Italy permanent once his loan expires at the end of the season.

Felix, 25, cost Atletico more than £112 million when he moved to Spain from Portuguese side Benfica in 2019.

His career has somewhat dwindled since, though, with the Portuguese having spent time on loan at both Chelsea and Barcelona before finally departing Atletico permanently last summer.

In total he has played 40 times for Chelsea across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists.

This season he has scored seven times in 20 appearances, although he has primarily been used in the Europa Conference League and the domestic cup competitions, with his playing time in the Premier League limited.

Prior to his move to Milan, Felix was the subject of interest from Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

It is claimed that Milan weren’t able to sign the player permanently in January as they had to finance a move for striker Santi Gimenez, but Felix was informed that he may have a long-term future at the San Siro.
