Chelsea and Tottenham are two of the sides interested in securing the services of Lille forward Victor Osimhen, according to Sky Sports reports. Osimhen has managed to found back of the net 12 times in 23 appearences for Lille this campaign and is apparently attracting plenty of attention.
The Merseyside Reds have also been rumoured with a move for the attacker, who Chelsea supporters will likely remember as he scored against them in the Champions League earlier this campaign.
The Nigerian is reportedly happy at the French club and has no intentions of departing when the transfer window will be re-opened in January, with Sky reporting that he’s only likely to depart from the club if any team comes with an offer that is simply too good for the French outfits to turn down.
With Olivier Giroud seemingly heading to depart from Stamford Bridge in January and with Jose Mourinho keen to add another attack to his team, both Chelsea and Spurs will continue keeping tabs on the 20-year-old.
It’s hard to argue with Osimhen’s goal record this campaign and the Blues have seen first-hand how good he can be.
The fact that Tottenham and Liverpool seem keen on the Nigerian forward could be an indication of how good he is and the Blues do need another striker, especially if Giroud depart from Stamford Bridge.
Depending on the price, Osimhen could be a good option, however, it would make more sense to sign him in January rather than the summer as the West London club will need all the help they can get to secure a top-four finish and secure Champions League football next season.
