Chelsea are keeping close tabs on Sporting Lisbon forward Raphina, according to the report which was published by Football London.

The report added that scouts from the Blues were seen in attendance during Lisbon’s 3-1 win over Portimonese.

The 22-year-old Brazilian forward was the best player for his side during the game and helped them to secure the win.

Chelsea head-coach Frank Lampard was prevented from making any new players this summer due to the Blues two transfer window ban and also had to make do without the services of Eden Hazard who left the club this summer to join La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The West London club are currently not playing an attractive brand of football and will struggle to gain a top-four finish or challenge for trophies.

The wing is one area that Chelsea are in need to strengthen their squad.

If the West London club want to return to being a top side in the future, they will need to start identifying possible new forward and spend big on bringing a few fresh faces to the team next campaign.

Not only were they unable to bring in a direct replacement for Hazard, however, but the wingers Willian and Pedro are now over 30 and need to be replaced next campaign and Raphina is also believed to be the Blues no.1 transfer target when the transfer ban expires.

The West London club must continue to keep close tabs on Raphina. He was not a first-team regular for Sporting last campaign though he currently looks like he will be a first-team regular for his team this campaign. If he does manage to impress during the rest of the current season, it will be worth it making a move for him during the next summer transfer window.
