Chelsea are set to return with a second bid for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to Daily Star.
Dembele is a top target for Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and the Blues are set to submit a second bid despite Lyon insisting the striker isn’t for sale.
Lyon rejected a £34 million plus Olivier Giroud offer for Dembele.
“My information is Chelsea are willing to increase their bid from €40m (£34m),” transfer expert Ian McGarry told Transfer Window Podcast, according to Daily Star.
“It seems the Giroud option is still open, but not necessarily a game-breaker in terms of the transfer itself – Lyon would accept just cash only for Dembele.
“I think Chelsea would be willing to go up to €50m (£43m) for the player Lyon bought for £23m from Celtic two years ago.”
What did you think about the deal, do we really need to sign the Lyon attacker?
