Four Chelsea players might miss Wednesday’s Premier League game against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
One player likely to miss the game against Aston Villa is Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham. According to Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, the striker is a doubt for the game against Aston Villa with the striker still having a little bit of pain but Lampard insists a decision on whether Abraham will play will be made on Wednesday. Lampard said: “We are giving him every opportunity to play tomorrow.
“We will make the call tomorrow, he has a little bit of pain. He was in good form, he is always keen, he is trying his best.” Lampard also confirmed Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger will miss the game against Aston Villa on Wednesday.
Lampard said: “Toni Rudiger is close. He has stepped up his training, particularly in the last week, so we are hopeful he will be available in the next week to 10 days.”
Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley is also unavailable for the game against Aston Villa after Lampard confirmed the England international is sick. Lampard said: “Ross Barkley has been sick, he was ill Sunday night. He is in this morning but not recovered enough to be available today.
“He has been training well. That has never been a huge issue and now he has to keep that level and push that level and compete for a place. That is up to Ross now.”
Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek will miss the game against Aston Villa but Chelsea boss Frank Lampard recently confirmed he could make his injury comeback later this month. “It’s a long road, and it’s a difficult one for Ruben,” Lampard explained.
“He’s obviously keen, we all want him back, we know his quality but it’s going to be a while. I feel for him because people ask and the thing to say is I’m really pushing on, it might be next week, it might be next month, I don’t think that’s quite the case.
