Breaking: Liverpool keeper Adrian breaks rules to save Abraham’s penalty
Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has broken the rules to save the penalty kick from Tammy Abraham, pictures show.
According to new FIFA recommendations, shot-stoppers should keep at least one foot on the goal line at the moment of the penalty kick.
However, as photos prove, Adrain has not done so, and the episode has gon unnoticed by referee Stephanie Frappart.
Thus, Adrian saved Abraham’s shot and ensured Liverpool’s victory in the European Super Cup.
This was the first major men’s game officiated by a female referee. Stephanie Frappart is one of the most acclaimed official in women’s game and was the first to work in Ligue 1.
Should FIFA go into this?
