France boss Didier Deschamps has included Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in his 23-man list for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Albania
(September 7) and Andorra (September 10) but Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was left out.
Kante is currently recovering from an ankle injury which made him miss Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Norwich last Saturday.
Zouma has featured in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far and also Chelsea’s Super Cup loss to Liverpool.
Giroud has also featured in all four games Chelsea have played already this season, starting against Liverpool in the Super Cup and against Leicester City in the Premier League.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard hopes Kante will be free from injury after the upcoming international break.
“It’s a difficult one with N’Golo because he’s had four years of constant playing,” Lampard said.
