Breaking rules as Chelsea board considering to bring former midfielder back to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are heading into the busiest period of their January transfer window, with signings still to be made and exits on the cards.

It’s vital that Chelsea equip Liam Rosenior with a squad that can challenge in the second half of the season, as the Blues fight on various fronts.

Injuries continue to cause problems at Stamford Bridge, both in midfield and defence. Tosin Adarabioyo has been ruled out for a few weeks, whilst Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia are sidelined.

Douglas Luiz and Jeremy Jacquet appear the two most likely additions at this stage, but nothing has been signed at this point.

And there could yet be a surprise when it comes to a midfielder.

Chelsea have identified N’Golo Kante as a potential option

Douglas Luiz is in talks with Chelsea in what would only be a temporary deal.

However, according to The Telegraph, there are other midfielders with PL experience who have also been identified, as Chelsea assess their options.

N’Golo Kante is thought to be available for loan this month & has been approached by Fenerbahce, while Neves has been linked with a return to PL.

It was thought that Kante was joining Fenerbahce, but that isn’t as far done as first thought.

It would be a fairy tale return for Kante, who has spent the past few years in Saudi Arabia.
