Cesc Fabregas has claimed that Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard can be the best player in the club’s history.
Fabregas is well accustomed to what Hazard is capable of, having played alongside him since 2014. Even during periods in which the team have not been performing to the best of their abilities, Fabregas and Hazard have often linked up to provide a moment of magic and turn out fortunes around.
When you think about the best players ever to pull on a Chelsea shirt, the likes of Frank Lampard, John Terry, Gianfranco Zola, and the rest, all spring to mind. Hazard is not far off that bracket, having starred in two Premier League title-triumphs during his time as a Chelsea player.
Fabegas, who has earned his right to talk Chelsea, despite spending eight-years with Arsenal, believes that Hazard can reach the summit of the club’s hall of fame. The Spaniard wrote in his column for the Telegraph that Hazard can be the greatest player ever to play for Chelsea:
“He has all the attributes and the only piece missing is the Champions League. If he won that with Chelsea, then he would have everything at club level.”
“If he stays, I’m sure he will be, if not the best, one of the best players Chelsea has ever had and will ever have.”
