Chelsea are already thought to be working on a deal to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.
That’s according to the Times, who believe that the Frenchman would be a replacement for Eden Hazard, rather than Willian.
Their report claims that Man United value Martial at £89.3M. It’s pricy, but he has the potential to justify that price-tag in the future.
Though we hope that the Times’ information is correct in claiming that Chelsea are already working on the deal, it would be wrong to consider him a replacement for Hazard.
Considering the size of the bids Barcelona are thought to be submitting for Willian, there’s no reason why we can’t have our cake and eat it in this situation.
Chelsea should do everything in their power to convince Hazard to remain at the club, then reinvest the money that we raise through the sale of Willian into Martial.
