Chelsea agree personal terms with Bournemouth for January deal
Chelsea have agreed terms with Bournemouth for one of their young stars. The star will switch sides in the middle of the season which can earn him senior team debut.
The star in question here is Chelsea academy star Zain Silcott-Duberry. He was born on 9 July 2005 and started his career at Norwich City. He joined the Blues in 2017 and signed his first professional contract in 2022.
Zain is highly versatile player but is registerd as forward. He is right footed and is exciting to witness on the pitch. He made his debut for Chelsea under-18 against West Ham which ended in 4-0 win for the Blues.
Despite being a forward, Silcott-Duberry was used as defender in 2021/22 season. He was used as wing-back and the 19 year old responded very well to the new position.
In the 2022/23 season, Silcott-Deberry played 17 games for under-18 team. The following season, he was promoted to under-21 team. He has been superb for under-21 team this season as well.
As for the nationality, the 19 year old is eligible to represent both Montserrat and England. He played for Montserrat in under-15 level but now plays for England in youth stages.
Chelsea agree deal with Bournemouth for Zain Silcott-Duberry
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Bournemouth have agreed terms with Chelsea for Silcott-Duberry. He added that the deal includes sell-on clause and future incentives for first team appearances. Lastly, Romano said that the contract will be valid until June 2026.
This deal will be in best interest of both clubs and the player. Firstly, the Cherries will get a quality, versatile and young star in their side. Silcott-Duberry will get to make his senior debut and can also make his Premier League debut soon.
Lastly, Chelsea will have many benefits from the deal. They can open up space as well as bag essential profit on the deal. In addition, this sale will be registered as pure profit which will help them to comply with PSR.
