Chelsea and Real Madrid set to swap players in coming days

According to a transfer rumor circulating this afternoon, Chelsea and Real Madrid may be planning to switch players this summer at one position on the field.

According to numerous recent rumors, Chelsea has been linked to new goalkeepers this week and is reportedly working quickly to try and sign Villareal stopper Filip Jorgensen.

That hasn’t stopped Chelsea from reportedly seeking to buy additional keepers, such Andriy Lunin of Real Madrid, though. The rumors are still going strong, and one new one surfaced today via the Spanish publication Diario AS.

As cited by Sport Witness, the report claims that Kepa Arrizabalaga wants to move back to Real Madrid and could return to the La Liga side if Andriy Lunin were to leave. Kepa was obviously on loan there last season and looks set to leave Chelsea this summer on a permanent deal.

That is what these reports are certainly suggesting could happen now, despite Chelsea seemingly pushing for Jorgensen.

The Blues could offer Lunin an escape route as the report states ‘Chelsea are coming for him’. Enzo Maresca’s side are ‘very serious’ about Lunin, despite them making efforts to sign Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen.

Chelsea can use Kepa as the key to unlock the deal for the Real Madrid player. The Blues can carry out an exchange deal involving the two stoppers.

Kepa certainly wants to return to Real Madrid, that bit is clear. But whether Chelsea are really into Lunin or not remains to be seen and then if they are, would the two clubs be willing and able to sort some kind of swap deal that would suit all sides?

And to be honest, Chelsea seem far along with Jorgensen at the moment, unless they are going to bring two new goalkeepers!
