Frank Lampard is so far meeting the expectations of those fans who were begging the coaching staff to be more involved with the club’s academy.

Not only the new manager is ready to give the brightest young players a chance in the first team (look no further than Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham), but he is also getting to know the next generation.

On Saturday, Chelsea U18 have played their first Premier League 2 game at the home ground.

Frank Lampard, accompanied by his assistants and several senior players, has been spotted there.

This is a marked difference between Lampard and his predecessor, as Maurizio Sarri notoriously never was present at the youth teams’ games.

The Blues’ have not disappointed the boss, beating their London rivals 4-3 and keeping their 100% record after 2 games.
