According to reports reaching us now, Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Mats Hummels’ agent over a potential deal for Bayern Munich defender when the window reopens in January.
Hummels is down the pecking order at Bayern and is currently playing as a third choice behind Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule.
Report via German news outlet Bild claimed that the Germany World Cup winner is unhappy with playing life with the Bundesliga champions and might face the exit in the upcoming transfer window.
Hummels’ agent, Marc Kosicke, has reportedly travelled to London and held talks with the duo of Chelsea and Tottenham and the defender has just two years remaining on his current deal with the club.
And the German club’s chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists the centre-back is staying with them until the end of the season.
‘We had a conversation with Mats a few days ago and he will play for Bayern Munich in the second half of the season,’ he told Bild.
Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic also admitted that they had spoken to Hummels about his current situation. ‘We talked to Mats, it was a good conversation,’ he said.
