Chelsea Defender hints at Stamford Bridge exit

Tomas Kalas is back at Chelsea for pre-season.

The 25-year-old has taken part in training with the Premier League side for each of the past seven years, before then going out on loan to various clubs.

The defender signed for the Blues from Czech club Sigma Olomouc in a £5.2million deal in 2010, but has only made four appearances for the Premier League side.

Kalas has most recently been on loan at west London rivals Fulham, spending the past two seasons at Craven Cottage, making 36 appearances for the Whites as they won promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs last season.

And the Czech defender has hinted that he could be in line for another move away in a social media post on his Instagram page.

Kalas has posted three photos in the past week or so, having returned to pre-season training with the Blues.

His most recent picture was a selfie on a plane as he heads out to Australia with the rest of the squad for the pre-season game with Perth Glory on Monday, with the caption: “Off to Australia.”

Fulham midfielder Kevin MacDonald was quick to reply, saying just one word: “Lost.”

And Kalas’ response was telling.

The Blues defender said back to MacDonald: “I know,” with two laughing emojis.

Could Kalas make a swift return to Fulham, or will new Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri be willing to offer him a chance in the Blues team?
