Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the signing of Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.
We’re not sure what to believe that this stage. There have been suggestions that the uncertainty surrounding our managerial situation have prevented us from doing business this summer so far.
On the flip-side, Football Italia report that Rugani is close to becoming our first signing of the transfer window. The report claims that the deal to take the Italian to Stamford Bridge is ‘practically done’.
Football Italia note that with bonuses included the deal could be worth in the region of €35M. In the current, inflated transfer market, that’s the sort of fee that represents a low-risk, potentially high-reward transfer.
Maurizio Sarri worked with Rugani during their time at Empoli. It’s believe that Sarri is also on his way to Chelsea, and the pair could be presented by the club together. That’d be brilliant!
