Chelsea fans are all talking about the ‘one thing’ youngster Josh Acheampong did that no any Chelsea player could do in just 10minutes of play against Tottenham
When it came to selecting his team for last night’s crucial Chelsea match, Mauricio Pochettino had to exercise some creativity.
The Blues defeated their bitter rivals, Tottenham, 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in a thrilling victory that will keep them in the running to make it to Europe the next season.
Pochettino, who missed up to 14 first team players for yesterday’s London derby, will be especially pleased with his team’s response to their severe injury difficulties at the moment.
Josh Acheampong, a 17-year-old academy standout, was one of the young talents that made up the outfield players on the bench because of this.
The right-back was brought on with 12 minutes to go after an injury to Alfie Gilchrist, who put in a brilliant performance himself in just his second start for the club.
With the score being 2-0 when the Blues brought him on, it was all about defending and closing out the game to secure a crucial three points.
Josh Acheampong makes most blocks in Chelsea vs Tottenham
He got himself in the way of a number of shots from the away side late on, with a statistic from Mozo Football stating that he made four successful blocks, the most of any player on the pitch for either team across the 90 minutes.

Reece James and Malo Gusto still injured
Given the fact that it seems unlikely club captain Reece James returns before the end of the season, and there is currently no date set for when Malo Gusto comes back, Acheampong could be about to see himself included in the squad for the rest of the campaign.
In his cameo last night, he proved the Premier League is certainly not a level too high for him, and if he is needed again the Blues should not feel like they are weakening their squad too much with the talented youngster.
