Chelsea had one of their greatest captain’s of all time in John Terry and it left something of a void when he departed the club at the end of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.
From there Gary Cahill took of the responsibilities, but with a lack of game time it was Cesar Azpilicueta who had the armband on more often than not and once again against Huddersfield Town on Saturday it was the Spaniard who got the nod.
Maurizio Sarri hasn’t confirmed who will be his Chelsea captain this season, so who would be yours? #cfc

However, there have been reports that Eden Hazard could well be made club captain this season as one of the ways to entice him to stay at the club and having proven his captaincy credentials by guiding Belgium to the semi-final of the World Cup as their skipper.
Football.london ran a poll on Twitter and it was pretty clear who the majority of those that voted wanted to see in charge on the pitch.
Out of the 1227 people that voted for the new skipper, 68% want to see Hazard given the armband for the first season, with Azpilicueta second with 29% of the vote.
Meanwhile, Cahill got just 1%, with 2% of those that voted wanting to see another option as skipper.
Sarri will no doubt confirm who will be the permanent fixture ahead of the Arsenal game this Saturday, and it appears Hazard would be a popular choice.
