The new Chelsea manager is determined to keep to his game plan, even if many people had assumed he would center his project around Cole Palmer.
Cole Palmer may experience a different Chelsea weather throughout this time frame due to the announcement of Enzo Maresca as Pochettino’s replacement.
The previous manager of Leicester City is keen to stay on course, even if it means making a player sacrifice, and he understands he must do whatever it takes to succeed at the team if he is to keep his position.
When asked if he would construct his team around a player who has consistently shown to be superior than the other during a recent interview, the manager’s answer made it evident what kind of mindset he had for the position.
Cole Palmer, who finished the 2023–2024 Premier League season with an incredible performance, has become England’s top player in the Euros competition.
Although supporters undoubtedly anticipate that Maresca would adjust his formation to highlight Cole Palmer’s strengths, the manager believes this isn’t the wisest course of action.
“I understand the hunger to see your team build around that player who is always there for things to get done,” Maresca told reporters. I know these things inside and out.

“Yeah, I have seen a lot of our club’s players competing for their national teams, but keep in mind that we have a system in place and that every player, good enough, must fit into it.”
Due to EURO 2024, Cole Palmer, Cucurella, and a few other Chelsea players have not yet returned for preseason play. However, they will return to Stamford Bridge as soon as the EUROS event concludes.
