Chelsea finally agree deal to sell midfielder to City

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea and Leicester City have agreed to a £5 million sale for Michael Golding, a midfield player.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a free agent from the Foxes, has agreed to join the Blues. They agreed to split ways with Golding during the same conversations so as to balance their books.

Despite being one of the top young graduates from the academy, the 18-year-old’s sale on the cheap has been approved by the club. He was not likely to make the first team roster anytime soon.

However, the youthful player, who made 26 appearances for the Under 18s previous season and contributed seven goals, may get playing time from the Foxes.

Leicester managed to secure promotion from the Championship with relative ease, but they face a huge challenge on their hands to stay in the Premier League next term.

With their tight financial situation, they are not in a position to spend big. There is also the possibility of a points deduction after failing to meet the PSR limits for 2022/2023.
