According to the reports, Chelsea are ready to rival Arsenal in race for Red Bull Leipzig star Emil Forsberg as both sides are desperate to sign the highly-demanded forward.
Unai Emery was appointed new Arsenal boss last week but head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been working hard behind the scenes to line up new signings for the Spaniard.
Forsberg, 26, joined Leipzig in 2015 and the speculation over his future affected his form last season, where he scored just five in 27 matches.
The Swedish international tweeted: ‘Thanks for everything’ after he was sent off in Leipzig’s clash with Hoffenheim in late April in what turned out to be Forsberg’s final appearance of the season.
Forsberg is rated at around £47million and two London club have held talks with the player’s representatives over a move to the Premier League, according to Swedish publication Expressen.
Alongside Chelsea and Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Juventus are also said to be interested in the midfielder but he favours a move to the Premier League.
